Why publish rates at all?
Because the alternative wastes everyone time. If our rates do not work for your budget, knowing that on the website is better than finding out after a tow. Published rates also give you something concrete to compare against an insurance estimate.
Are these the rates my insurer will pay?
Not necessarily. Insurance-billed work may be written at carrier-negotiated rates that differ from the posted retail rates. The posted rates are what customer-pay work is billed at.
Why is the diagnostic rate higher than the labor rate?
Diagnostics require scan tools, subscriptions, and a technician who can interpret the result. The one-hour minimum is credited against an authorized repair, so it is not an additional cost if you proceed.
What is the deposit schedule?
Jobs over $2,000 take a 50 percent deposit at authorization. Jobs over $10,000 take an additional 25 percent when parts arrive. The balance is due at pickup.
Why is there a card surcharge?
Card payments over $1,000 carry a 3.5 percent surcharge, which is a direct pass-through of merchant fees on high-ticket work. Other payment methods avoid it.
How are materials calculated?
Paint supplies are $55 per hour times paint hours, body supplies are $5 per hour times body hours, and hazmat disposal is $45 flat when chemicals, refrigerant, or LP are involved. Sales tax of 7.75 percent applies to parts and materials. Labor is not taxed.
